Don't miss out!

Just a reminder, don't miss this week's general meeting. We have a great speaker, Dr. Sankar Mohan PhD, lined up for you. Dr. Sankar Mohan leads the Advanced Engineering Group at the New Process Gear division of Magna Powertrain in Syracuse, New York. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and his Doctorate from Syracuse University. He specializes in automotive Drivetrain and Traction Control areas. During his twenty years in the automotive industry, he has been awarded over 30 US and international patents in the Drive Train Area and his technical articles have been published in many journals including SAE, ASME and GPC. His presentation is titled "Designing, Modeling and Testing of Modern AWD/4WD Drivetrain Elements and Systems."

Dr. Mohan has also expressed that career opportunities are available at Magna Powertrain. If you are interested, you should e-mail your resume to him at sankar.mohan@magnapowertrain.com

In other news, the new formula site is online. You can check it out here. Please let me know if you have any suggestions/problems.

Some minor updates

Load times should now be considerably faster. Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.

The new formula site is coming along much quicker than I thought it would. Expect a live version sometime next week.

And most importantly, don't miss the presentation next week at the general meeting. Dr. Sankar Mohan will be presenting over AWD/4WD dynometer testing.

Updated

Well, it's done. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about it. Comments, criticisms, suggestions... I'm all ears.

Oh, and you should upgrade if you haven't already.

Next up is a new Formula site. Stay tuned...

A few quick notes to fully enjoy the new site

  • The 3 links listed under "What's your style?" will change the site's style to represent your team of choice. It'll even remember what style you used last so that it's the same every time you open the site. Try it out!
  • The purple box titled "Design Teams" is a little preview area for each of our 3 design teams. Click the team names to switch to a different team to preview. Click more » to launch the team's full site in another window.
  • As you can see, all of the images used are from older competitions. Following competition season this year, and assuming you guys take plenty of good pics of your pride and joy, I'll update the site with fresh images.
  • If you are using IE6 or Safari, this site will not quite appear as it should (although it will come really close). You should upgrade (IE7 works too).

Aero

We take an unbelievably light plane and carry an unbelievably hefty payload. Then we redesign it so it's even lighter. And we have fun doing it. If you're looking for aerospace at KSU, this is where it's at.

What do you get when you cross a go-cart with a sportbike, throw some engineering students at it, and make it look like a mini-F1 car? A Formula SAE competition car! Sound fun?
