Tracy Thomas joins the K-State Music Faculty as Adjunct Instructor of Percussion. He received his B.S. in Music Education with a performance emphasis in 2003 at Missouri Western State University, under the direction of Dr. Dennis Rogers.
While attending Missouri Western, he was a cast member of “Sticks of Thunder,” a percussion theater show based out of Kansas City, MO. He served as an assistant band director for Fulton Public Schools in Fulton, MO from 2003-2004. He received his M.M in Percussion Performance from the University of Kansas in May of 2006 under the direction of Kevin Bobo, and is currently at KU working on his D.M.A. He was recently featured as a soloist at the 13th Annual International Percussion Festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has several marimba compositions published by PercMaster Publications, and is an active performer and educator throughout the Midwest.
