Department to Offer Four-Year, $25,000-a-year Chapman Fellowship

The History Department of Kansas State University is pleased to announce a new named fellowship for doctoral students. The Chapman Fellowship offers four years of support with a yearly stipend of $25,000 and eligibility for in-state tuition. Eventually (by adding a new student every year), four students will hold this fellowship at any one time. The Chapman Fellowship is not restricted by field, but the department particularly encourages applications in its fields of specialization: military history, agricultural/environmental history, and the history of Christianity. Candidates interested in the Chapman Fellowship should complete the department's standard admissions procedure (from our homepage, please click on "Academics" and then "Graduate"). Questions may be directed to Professor David Stone, Chair of the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee, at stone@ksu.edu, or History Department, 208 Eisenhower Hall, Manhattan, KS, 66506. The History Department does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic or national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, ancestry, disability, military status, veteran status, or other non-merit reasons.
