Responsibilities include programming, planning, design, and construction for all buildings, properties, and land owned or leased by the University across the state of Kansas. This includes any buildings that are being renovated, rehabilitated, or being added onto, as well as any new building being constructed for the University. Emphasis is primarily on the main campus, the Veterinary Medicine campus, and the Salina campus. However, the University maintains facilities in every county in the state of Kansas. The Planning staff includes registered architects, landscape architects, engineers, and planners who have worked on projects as large as the new $40,000,000 Food Safety and Security Research building on the main campus to small barns at Agricultural Research Stations across the state. A key project under development now is the Master Plan for the development of the main and VetMed campuses over the next 50 years.
