Wendy Matlock specializes in medieval studies. She teaches courses on medieval and renaissance literature and humanities, British literature, and women in literature.  Her current research considers the cultural significance of Middle English debate poems from the thirteenth through fifteenth centuries, and she has published articles in Studies in Philology, Philological Quarterly and the Arizona Studies in the Middle Ages and Renaissance series.
