Chuck Thorpe -- SVS Instructor

"Spanish I & II is for the rural or small school student who will enjoy the challenge of discovering the beautiful Spanish language as well as the exciting and fascinating Spanish-speaking world."

Chuck Thorpe
SVS Instructor

Chuck Thorpe hosts and instructs SVS High School Spanish and has since its inception in 1989. Chuck is excited about the opportunities and challenges in the upcoming school year.

Chuck believes that personal growth occurs through exposure to and by gaining an understanding of other languages and cultures. He hopes that the unique delivery method of this satellite course expands personal horizons for his SVS students, many of whom would not experience the larger world by studying languages. In an effort to 2 further his own exposure, Chuck’s studies have taken him to Europe and Latin America, including study in Spain as a recipient of a King Juan Carlos fellowship.

Chuck is a certified high school teacher in the state of Kansas. Spanish I & II, and e-SVS are currently accredited in most states. If your school is in a non-accredited state and is interested in SVS High School Spanish, we will begin the accreditation process immediately upon your request.

 Vicky Bell -- Spanish Assistant

Vicky Bell
SVS School Services Coordinator
My name is Vicky Bell, and I am a native of Bogotá Colombia. My father came to the United States in search of better career opportunities, and our family moved here in 1972. It was a difficult move, but one that would prove to be very rewarding. One of the biggest challenges was learning the English language and becoming accustomed to a completely new way of life. My brothers and sisters and I spent many months in fear of having to speak, challenging each other to answer the phone or to talk to the neighbors. As the years went by, life got easier and we all adapted well into the culture. After thirty years of living here, I have mastered the language, developed great friendships and started new traditions. from Medical Science Campus at the University of Puerto Rico.
