We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our lab in the Division of Biology at Kansas State University as Postdoctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will be a member of a research team working on innate immunity and functional genomics of the malaria vector Anopheles gambiae. He/she will work on the characterization of serine protease inhibitors and the identification of their target proteases using standard biochemical and proteomic tools. Ph.D. or equivalent in Entomology, Biology, Biochemistry, or Public Health is required. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular insect biology and a track record of publications. Experience in protein expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems, protein purification, protein-protein interactions, and enzymatic assays are required. A background in mosquito biology and host-parasite interactions is preferred. The applicant should be motivated, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work efficiently in a team as well as independently.
