ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Gary Woodward is currently the head of foundations in the Art Department and teaches design and digital imaging. Current interest include perfecting skills on a Mac computer and making efforts to be creative with a variety of software packages such as Photoshop and Aldus Freehand. He received his MFA in Drawing from the University of Washington in 1969. His work has been exhibited widely, including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Collage and mixed media are the process and materials supporting his image making. Exterior landscape spaces as well as electron microscope views of life are filtered through a paleontology overlay to create the composite image/object.
