Terms are staggered with two new faculty members joining the Board each year (one elected and one appointed). Elections are generally held in mid-Spring and terms begin at the end of the Spring Semester. Meetings are held monthly during the Fall and Spring semesters. Meetings are open and minutes are distributed to all AMETH faculty. Service on the AMETH Governance Board is considered a form of service to the University and is generally recognized as such by Deans and department heads. The Board was first established in the Fall of 1987, following the naming of the initial faculty of the program. It replaced the AMETH Development Committee, which had governed the program until that time. |
